Memoato is a low-friction memory for everyday life. You write what happened in your own words. The original note stays intact, while useful details become easier to find, connect, and understand later.
Do not track more. Remember the missing context.
The gap between the apps
Trackers are excellent at objective activity. Calendars hold plans. Todo apps hold obligations. Email holds conversations, and notes hold long-form thinking. But real life happens between those systems.
Why you skipped the gym. What hurt during a set. Which fallback kept the routine alive. How you felt before a big call. The tiny purchase detail you will need six months from now. That is Memoato territory.
Designed around people
- Natural capture — a sentence, a number, or an unfinished thought is enough.
- Raw note first — your exact words are saved before anything is interpreted.
- Helpful structure — facts and context become browsable without turning logging into a form.
- Visible assumptions — suggestions can be confirmed, corrected, or ignored.
- Forgiving by design — there are no streaks to break and no guilt for disappearing.
Quiet technology
Memoato uses automation where it removes friction, but the technology is not the product. The product is a calmer relationship with your own history: less effort while logging, more clarity when looking back.
You can use the web app today, install it as a PWA, or connect tools such as Codex and Claude through the Memoato MCP. Privacy options include cloud sync, encrypted cloud, and local-only storage.
Built openly
Memoato is an open-source project from HILLS Lab, created by Hrvoje Pavlinovic. It is being built for real personal use first, with the ambition to become a useful memory layer for anyone whose life refuses to fit into neat boxes.
